Who is NetBlender?

NetBlender was founded in March 2005 by a team of DVD industry veterans with particular expertise in the area of network-connected convergent media. We are excited about the creative possibilities that Blu-ray offers, but we believe that Blu-ray do not have the same luxury of time that DVD had to filter from Hollywood to independent producers. So we're doing things a little differently around here to help creative developers like you.

What is DoStudio?

DoStudio is a professional Blu-ray authoring suite that empowers the creative developer at every level of the industry. While some companies are happy to tout that they are Hollywood's solution, we are really aiming to provide solutions for all of the producers living on the rest of the planet. We have customers on every continent - sixteen countries currently, to be exact - but we're just getting started. Originally called DVD One, our authoring solution has been used by next-generation producers since its release in September of 2006. DoStudio BD Authoring Edition is the most advanced iteration of our software to date.

Emmy Nominated Technology

NetBlender was nominated in 2006 for the prestigious Advanced Media Technology Emmy for our work on the PBS DVD The Cultivated Life: Thomas Jefferson and Wine. The intelligent engine that powered the Emmy-nominated disc is the same engine that makes DoStudio so effective in maximizing compatibility for playback of HD DVD and Blu-ray titles across multiple players.

Innovative Approaches

Don't have a Ferrari to trade for a Blu-ray authoring system? Neither do we, so we priced DoStudio on a month-by-month subscription fee - an industry first. As the developer community grows and its needs mature, we will add ala carte services to the subscription-based offerings. No long-term commitment is required.

Tired of asking for a badly needed feature and never seeing it implemented? So are we, so NetBlender is committed to responding to the needs of the development community. We accept feature requests through our support tool and we will begin publishing new features soon.

We believe that a community approach is the best way to tackle the challenges posed by Blu-ray development. We invite developers to contribute to our WikiPapers. Our support tool features a forum inhabited by DoStudio Ambassadors - fellow developers who can help you achieve your creative goals through innovative use of DoStudio.

We recently announced our Blend/In developer partnership program which provides an SDK for creating DoStudio plug-ins that you can sell. Get paid for your genius! We recognize that the best service we can provide to our customers is to build an ecosystem of products around DoStudio.

Beyond Blu-ray Disc

The founders of NetBlender spent a decade developing technologies to satisfy the needs of their productions, which were primarily web-enabled DVDs for the education and museum marketplace. We are currently pouring energy into solutions for Blu-ray authoring because we feel there is great potential in the new format if its power can be unleashed by the collective creativity of the world.

We have development underway in areas that do not involve optical discs as well. Stay tuned...
