Why did you select NetBlender?

“We decided to enter the Blu-ray authoring market at the request of several of our customers who were dissatisfied with the limited, expensive and unreliable BD authoring services available in Mexico” said DVDUltra’s Rafael Molina. “We researched brands, prices, time of ROI, features and speed of use.  In the end, we concluded that the best solution for us was NetBlender’s DoStudio Authoring Edition (DSA).”

The availability of a full-functioning DSA trial that the studio could download and test in their own environment was important to their ultimate selection of DoStudio.  Molina explains “As this was our first step into Blu-ray, it was important for us to understand how different Blu-ray authoring would be.  Once we tested DSA, we were very pleasantly surprised to discover that it is a user-friendly and easy-to-understand, but powerful, application, with a clean and simple GUI. And it also fit very well within our budget.”

How has NetBlender helped your business?

“A big advantage of the software, and something that made it much easier for us to make the investment, is the support and personalized attention we received.  Even when demoing the product, we received kind and fast response from the sales and technical support personnel,” remarks Molina. This level of support and commitment to their success with Blu-ray assured Molina that, once he was a customer, he would receive great support.

Thanks to DVD Ultra’s decision to go with DSA, they have secured commitments from clients to author at least 15 BD titles by the end of 2009, and that’s before even publicly promoting their new BD Authoring capabilities!  As client interest in Blu-ray ramps up, DVD Ultra is considering buying another license of DSA to cover the demand with ease.

What results have you seen using DoStudio?

The first 5 titles DVD Ultra authored with DSA (three BD-25 and two BD-50) were replicated in large quantities and are available on the market now. These titles are Traidor (Traitor) BD-50, Peligro en Bangkok (Bangkok Dangerous) BD-50, El Nuevo Novio de mi Mamá (My Mom’s New Boyfriend) BD-25, El Mundo Mágico de Magorium (Mr. Magorium’s Wonder Emporium) BD-25, and La Leyenda de Excalibur (The Last Legend) BD-25.  Several more are in the works currently and Rafael and the team are enjoying some of the new features in DoStudio version 1.8, such as importing chapter markers from Final Cut Pro.
