Z Depth is a unique editing application specifically designed for the needs of stereoscopic 3D Blu-ray productions. Z Depth allows you to edit and record the needed offset metadata file for accurate placement of subtitles and interactive graphic menus in the 3D space of each scene of your Blu-ray movie.
Using the video processing power of Vegas Pro 10 software, you can watch your movie on a 3D monitor and easily place and position your subtitles accurately on the perceptual Z axis. While you are placing your subtitles, Z Depth records the offset disparity data for use in a stereoscopic 3D Blu-ray authoring application.
New Features in Version 2.1:
Automated Depth Analysis of Stereoscopic Video – Automatically determines the most effective depth value used to assign Z Axis placement for the subtitle or menu graphic event. Depth value analysis can be automated based on time code entries, length of video, or number of graphic events.
Enhanced Graphical Offset Value Display – Displays a new visual cue in the preview window during recording of the disparity value being applied to the subtitle or menu event.
Subpixel Precision for Digital Cinema – New adjustment options for offset data values allow for subpixel precision when outputting file formats compatible with Digital Cinema 3D productions. Font rendering XML capabilities now added to Z Depth 2.1 for DC projectors.
Easily Add Depth to Subtitles and Pop-up menus
Use the Z Depth track bar or the mouse wheel to control depth through tactile response.
Fine tuning can be performed through direct envelope manipulation or by entering specific values via your keyboard.
Preview Subtitle Depth in 3D in Real Time
The Vegas Pro timeline output is delivered via HDMI or DVI to your stereoscopic 3D display or LCD monitor of choice. Output options include side by side, line alternate and anaglyphic.
The content is shown in stereoscopic 3D, with subtitles superimposed using their current offset, allowing you to preview subtitle depth.
