ScreamerNet Blu-ray Automation Solution
NetBlender’s ScreamerNet automates the capture, encoding, authoring and ISO creation for 2D and 3D Blu-ray discs. The software components consist of the ScreamerNet server application and three ScreamerNet client applications: Capture, Encoding and Authoring. ScreamerNet configurations can be installed on a single workstation, or spread across multiple workstations.
The ScreamerNet automation suite is comprised of multiple NetBlender authoring and encoding products, third-party software for VTR control, and the ScreamerNet Server application. Once installed, the ScreamerNet system can be controlled entirely via an XML-based API rather than the application UIs themselves.
Screamernet Server
The ScreamerNet Server is an application that serves as the master controller for all of the ScreamerNet Client applications. The ScreamerNet Server allows for automated processing of high-volume transcoding tasks and manages functions such as job distribution, job prioritization, status monitoring, and job notification.
Interaction with the server is through an administrative application that runs on the primary ScreamerNet server workstation, or via an XML-based API that is included with the product. A web interface that can be accessed from remote machines can also be used to control the ScreamerNet server.
ScreamerNet Encoding and Authoring Clients
All versions of the DoStudio Encoder and DoStudio Authoring can be used as a ScreamerNet client. The ScreamerNet protocol is built into the DoStudio Encoder and DoStudio Authoring application and is activated when a ScreamerNet license is installed on the workstation.
Once configured, ScreamerNet clients can be assigned Activities by the ScreamerNet server. Client status can be monitored by the ScreamerNet Server so that jobs priority can be monitored. Clients can be installed on the same workstation as the Server, or they can be installed on separate workstations that are accessible via a local network.
