Tutorial 1.E. - Add Chapters to the Main Video

• How to add Chapters to a title by entering timecode

1. Right-Click the Chapters icon in the title and select “Add Chapter” from the context menu. You will see a new chapter listed in the playlist with the name “Chapter 1 - 00:00:00:00″ Chapter time codes in DoStudio are zero-based, so the first frame of video is always at timecode 00:00:00:00.
2. Right-Click the Chapters icon in the title and select “Add Chapter” from the context menu to add a second chapter. You will see a new chapter listed in the playlist with the name “Chapter 2 - 00:00:00:00″.
3. Use your mouse to highlight the last four digits of Chapter 2’s time code in the Control Panel and type in “1000″ and press enter (you do not need to type in the colon). This will change the Chapter’s timecode value to “00:00:10:00″ - in other words, you have created a chapter 10 seconds into the video.
4. Right-Click the Chapters icon in the title and select “Add Chapter” from the context menu to add a third chapter. You will see a new chapter listed in the playlist with the name “Chapter 3 - 00:00:00:00″.
5. When entering Chapter 2’s timecode you only highlighted and changed the last four digits. For Chapter 3, use your mouse to highlight all of the digits of Chapter 3’s time code in the Control Panel and type in “00002000″ and press enter (you do not need to type in the colons). This will change the Chapter’s timecode value to “00:00:20:00″ - in other words, you have created a chapter 20 seconds into the video.

Repeat these steps to create 10 chapters at the following timecodes:

Chapter 1 - 00:00:00:00
Chapter 2 - 00:00:10:00
Chapter 3 - 00:00:20:00
Chapter 4 - 00:00:30:00
Chapter 5 - 00:00:40:00
Chapter 6 - 00:00:50:00
Chapter 7 - 00:01:00:00
Chapter 8 - 00:01:10:00
Chapter 9 - 00:01:20:00
Chapter 10 - 00:01:30:00
