Tutorial 2.C. - Open Mosaic and Import your Layered PSD

What you will learn in this section:
  • How to import you Photoshop file using Mosaic

Now that we have described how to create a layered Photoshop file for your menus, let’s import the demo project PSD using Mosaic.  The Demo Project PSD is found in the folder called DSAdemo.PSD.
  1. Launch Mosiac by pressing the “Import a Photoshop file” button in the tool bar.
  2. From the Edit menu in the task bar, select “Add PSD file.”  Select the demo project PSD called “DSA_Demo_Menu.PSD” using the dialog window.

You will see Mosaic import each layer of the PSD.  You can view the entire menu system by clicking the layout preview window, or you can view individual menu elements by selecting them in the layerlist tree and viewing them in the layer Image window.

  1. Step 3: Import the graphics into DoStudio by selecting File>Import Into DoStudio.

When the import process completes you will see your menu elements listed in the Menu Elements window in DoStudio. Mosaic has created a folder in your project directory called “Images” and saved an individual PNG file for each menu element in your project.
