Tutorial 3.B. – Arrange the Playlists in the Blu-ray Title timeline

What you will learn in this section:
  • How the Title timeline is organized
  • How to create a First Play Playlist

By default, each new DSA project includes one Blu-ray title called the DoStudio BD-J Menu.  All of your playlists are contained in this title.  Every time you add a playlist to your proejct, it is automatically added to the DoStudio BD-J Menu timeline.  If you want to remove a playlist, click the X in the playlist icon in the timeline.
By default, all of the playlists are placed to the right of the loading  screen in the timeline, meaning that the first thing that happens when the disc starts is that the BD-J menus will load.  You can place playlists to the left of the loading Screen in the timeline, which will cause them to play before the menus load.  These are called “First Play Playlists.”  They are useful for FBI warnings, logos or trailers.
The Playlist immediately to the right of the Loading Screen icon will play after the menus load.  After that, the order of the remaining Playlists is not critical.  The On End events for the Playlists will take priority over the order of the Playlists in the timeline.
In the demo project, we will move the FBI Warning title in front of the loading screen.
To arrange the playlists in the demo project:
  1. Expand the Blu-ray Titles folder and select the DoStudio BD-J Menu title icon.  This display’s the title’s timeline view.
  2. Click-drag the FBI Warning playlist (click on the gray bar at the top of the playlist icon) and drag it to the left of the loading screen icon.  You will notice that the FBI warning icon now has diagonal lines on it, indicating that it will play before the BD-J menus are loaded.
