Tutorial 5.C. – Quick Compile and Review
What you will learn in this section:
- How to Quick Compile
At this point you have added remote control navigation to your Main Menu and applied an Action that displays the Main Menu any time the menu loop plays. It’s a good time to perform a Quick Compile and check your work. The Quick Compile feature only compiles your menus and the BD-J content of your disc and does not multiplex your audio video. Quick Compile can be used to compile your project when you have made authoring changes that do not involve changes to your playlist structure. The Quick Compile process take about 30-45 seconds.
- Press the Quick Compile button in the toolbar.
- When the compiling process has completed, launch your softplayer and play your disc (if you have forgotten how to do this, see Tutorial 3.C.)
- When the Main Menu loop plays, you will see your Main Menu block appear on screen.
- Use the arrow keys on your keyboard to navigate left and right on the menu. You will see each button highlight in turn.
- Hide the main menu by pressing the pop-up menu button again.
Your main menu is working properly so far, but it just pops on and off screen. In the next tutorial, we’ll add animation to the menu block.
