Tutorial 7.B. - Set APRM Value on 3 subtitle setup buttons

• Review using system actions

1. Expand the Menu Elements view for the button called “SubEnglish” to display the five remote control events for the button.
2. Click the Enter Key event to display the Action editor Window in the Control Panel.
3. Right-click the action Editor window to display the Actions list. Select System Actions > Set Advanced Parameter. You will see the Advanced Parameter action appear in the Actions list.
4. Select the “Subtitle” APRM using the APRM pull down list. Enter the value “English” in the text field for the Action.
5. Repeat steps 1-3 to add the Set Advanced Parameter action to the button “SubFrench”. Enter the value “French” in the text field for the Action.
6. Repeat steps 1-3 again to add the Set Advanced Parameter action to the button “SubGerman”. Enter the value “German” in the text field for the Action.
7. Repeat steps 1-3 again to add the Set Advanced Parameter action to the button “SubOFF”. Enter the value “Off” in the text field for the Action.

In this tutorial we have used the System Action “Set Advanced Parameter” to give a language value to our APRM called “Subtitle” when the viewer makes a subtitle selection using our setup menu. In the next tutorial, we will use Conditions to evaluate the setting contained in the APRM to set the appropriate subtitle track.
