Tutorial 8.A. – Setup the Basic Navigation for the Setup Menu

If you have followed the steps in the preceding tutorials, then you already have the skills to setup the basic navigation for the Audio setup menu.  We will list a summary of the steps here along with a video demonstrating the steps.  Try it yourself and then check your authoring against the the following steps:

1. Right-click on the “Setup Set” in the Setup menu and select “Apply Vertical Navigation” to add the remote control navigation to the buttons in the Setup menu.
2. Add the Show Menu Action to the Enter Key event for the button “MM Setup” in the Main Menu.  In the parameters for the action, select the “Setup menu”, the “Setup Set” and set the selected button to “AudioEnglish”.
3. Select the button called “SubOff” to display the properties in the Control Panel.  Click the Remote Control tab.  Clear the remote control navigation for the Down button by selecting the blank entry at the top of the pull down list.
4. Add the Hide Menu action to the Down Key event for the “SubOff” button.  In the parameters for the Action, select the “Setup menu” and set the selected button to “MM Setup”.

Quick compile and review.

You should be able to navigate to the Setup menu, arrow up and down among the buttons, and navigate back to the Main Menu.  The setup menu should hide when you navigate back to the Main Menu.
