The BD Touch – Connect SDK
The Connect SDK provides a complete specification for sending and receiving data between a BD Touch compatible Blu-Ray disc and an iPhone/iPod Touch. The Connect SDK also provides a robust security framework and ensures compatibility with all BD Live enabled players.
The Connect SDK is ideal for developers who wish to create a BD Touch plugin for DoStudio that can be applied to any Blu-ray disc. Using the Connect SDK you can develop free or commercial applications on a Mac and distribute them on Apple's App Store according to Apple's developer EULA.
Some of the capabilities of the BD Touch Connect SDK include:
- Receive audio and video from the Blu-ray Disc.
- Receive current information about the Blu-ray Disc that is playing such as the title's name, the studio, the current audio and subtitle settings, the current chapter, and more.
- Send text messages to the Blu-ray Disc.
- Unlock hidden features on the disc.
- Send audio or video from the iPhone to the Blu-ray Disc.
- Send Blu-ray player commands such as “Fast Forward”.
- Receive URL commands from the Blu-ray Disc such as go to a specific website, or download an iTunes movie or song.

BD Touch – Premiere Blend/In SDK
The BD Touch Premiere Blend/In SDK is an extended developer kit designed for studios and software companies who require customized solutions that incorporate BD Touch features. NetBlender approves all Premiere Blend/In partners and provides support and testing tools.
Some of the extended capabilities of the Blend/In SDK include:
- Connect multiple iPhones to a Blu-ray disc simultaneously, similar to multiple game-system controllers.
- Receive 3D motion information from the iPhone and have the Blu-ray disc respond based on this information.
- Customization for a specific title, such as security settings, RSS feed displays, and text message display information.
- Use of the BD Touch logo.

Does BD Touch work with all Blu-Ray Players?

Does BD touch turn the iPhone into a remote control for your Blu-ray player?
That is one potential application of the technology, but BD Touch can take advantage of all of the iPhone's interactive capabilties such as geo-location, mapping, search and more.
Do my movies need to already have BD Touch on the disc?
Yes BD Touch will work with future movies that are authored with BD touch features.
If I want to author my next movie with BD Touch features do I have to get the SDK?
Not necessarily. You can use DoStudio’s built in BD Touch features without any programming. Check out DoStudio here.
Will BD Touch work outside of the US?
Yes BD Touch works terrifically over a WiFi network no matter which country you are in.
